Take The Vacation!

I recently read a story that brought this to mind.

The story was based on what a grieving widower told a couple at a funeral. Please don't wait that long.

I've used this quote as a catch phrase. "Travel not to escape life, but so life does not escape you."

If you have been thinking about taking a vacation but have had doubts about whether or not you could afford it, if the timing was right, if you would have to miss work, etc, etc.

Sooner or later, all we will have left is memories. We will all lose loved ones. We will all grow older and our physical abilities will diminish. Our children will grow and possibly move away.

I think back to just two summers ago. We were traveling with a group of friends to Daytona. On at least 2 of the nights, we ran with the kids on the beach trying to catch the crabs scurrying along in the sand. Even if my knees don't function that well in another 5 years, or the kids have grown to teens and see no fun in that anymore, at least I'll have those memories.

This was just one of the COUNTLESS memories of that week. Had we decided not to go on that trip, those memorable moments would have never happened and they may never again.

The thought of not going on that trip did cross our minds. Airfare for 5 people. Hotel for a week. Food and drinks for a week. paying for activities for the week. It all adds up.

You can make more money when you return to work. If you miss the opportunity to make memories, there is no re-do.

A motivating discussion is definitely worth comment. I do think that you need to write more on this subject matter, it might not be a taboo subject but typically people don’t speak about these topics. To the next! Kind regards!!
